INSPIRATION
 Architecture carved out of the mountain.
At the Sanctuary of Arantzazu, Francisco Javier Sáenz de Oiza and Luis Laorga turned stone, concrete and shadow into something almost geological. The building feels less placed in the landscape than extracted from it — rough, heavy and intensely tactile.

The sculptural façade by Jorge Oteiza pushes this even further: figure, texture and structure become part of the same mass.

An enduring source of inspiration for the way architecture can grow from material, place and atmosphere.

OUT IN AND OUT AGAIN

Time and material

Wood, stone, vegetation, and glass are conceived as extensions of the site rather than contrasting elements.

The walls become overgrown, the roof gains patina, the reflections of the landscape continuously alter the perception of space.

The house is not a fixed object, but an evolving spatial condition.

RIBBON

From accident to structure

A former extraction site. A lake formed by groundwater. A scattered, ad hoc condition.

Rather than overwrite this process, the project builds on it— retaining its latent logic while introducing a coherent spatial order.

Architecture operates here as a framework: not replacing, but aligning.

Two houses. One tension between them.
Not side by side— but held in a narrow distance.

A strait, drawn in space.
Where separation becomes form, and proximity becomes pressure.
Courtyards slip in between— not empty, but charged.

Here, architecture is not the mass, but the interval.
What happens in the space between?
