This 2017 design project involved a collaboration between our design team, the UCDS landscape team, and Eff Studio (handling the bamboo elements). The project focused on developing the beachfront area of the Grand Mirage Resort. This entailed redesigning Jukung Resto—addressing the need to update its capacity and spatial requirements—and unifying the landscape flow to seamlessly integrate the Rama Stage, the area surrounding the restaurant, and a newly added adult pool. The design concept centered on Jukung Resto as the focal point, envisioned as a boat amidst the ocean; a stage positioned behind it served as a “pier,” while the “adult pool” represented the vast open sea toward which the vessel was sailing.
