Not every room gives a houseplant perfect light. Sansevieria is rather less demanding about the seating arrangements. 🌿
It’s a good choice for a living room, bedroom or hallway where there’s natural daylight but conditions aren’t especially bright. It will cope with lower light, although brighter, indirect light generally gives better growth.
The main thing to get right is watering: let the compost dry out before watering again. Sansevieria stores water in its fleshy leaves, and keeping the compost constantly wet can lead to root rot.
One place we wouldn’t choose for it? A very steamy bathroom. Sansevieria prefers lower humidity.
