Columbus didn’t discover America. An Irish monk from Kerry did — 500 YEARS earlier. 🇮🇪⛵
St. Brendan the Navigator, 6th century. He set sail in a leather currach with 14 monks. His writings described crystal pillars in the sea, monsters, and a paradise across the ocean.
For 1,400 years people called it a myth.
In 1976, explorer Tim Severin REBUILT Brendan’s leather boat from the 6th century and sailed it to Newfoundland. He proved it was possible all along.
America was on an Irish map before it was on anyone’s.
