DIY SOS: The Big Build Ireland may be over for us this year, but it has left a lasting impression on all our hearts.
What a wonderful project to take on with my son, Ryan. He embraced every moment and got involved at every step as we worked to make life a little easier for this family. Being local made the experience even more special.
This young family suddenly lost their dad while they were in the early stages of building their family home. DIY SOS, local contractors and tradespeople, and countless volunteers came together to complete the project in just nine days.
When I visited the home before work began, the scale of the project really caught me off guard. But undeterred and committed, we decided there and then that this mission had to be completed.
Over nine incredible days, the enthusiastic community came together to get it all done:
- Floors poured
- First-fix plumbing and electrics prepared
- Walls plasterboarded and skimmed
- First-fix and second-fix carpentry completed
- Bathroom installed and finished
- Flooring installed throughout
- Walls painted
- Bedroom and wardrobes installed
- Kitchen, utility room and media wall installed
- Garden landscaped and completed
We were proud to supply and install a brand-new kitchen and island with quartz worktops. We also supplied and installed the built-in bed and wardrobe in Oran’s bedroom.
Truly an amazing experience!
