It’s good to see construction progressing on our residential project in Dalkey, Co. Dublin.

This contemporary replacement home occupies a steep, narrow coastal site overlooking Dalkey Island and Dublin Bay. The design has had to address significant changes in ground level, neighbouring rooflines and privacy, while making the most of its exceptional setting.

Designed for thermal performance approaching Passive House standards, the home also incorporates photovoltaic roof slates, rainwater harvesting and other measures to improve long-term resilience.

We’ve secured full planning permission for a new infill house in Templeogue, Co. Dublin.

Designed for a constrained side-garden site within a mature residential neighbourhood, the house responds carefully to the scale and character of the surrounding homes. Traditional brick, a slate roof and restrained zinc cladding give the proposal a contemporary identity while respecting the existing street.

The project also makes efficient use of existing infrastructure and incorporates a super-insulated timber frame, heat-recovery ventilation and permeable paving.

For anyone considering a new home on an infill or side-garden site, the project shows how thoughtful residential architecture can make effective use of limited urban plots.

An update from our five-bedroom passive house project in Lahinch, Co. Clare. With the scaffolding now removed, the light render and contrasting dark cladding are clearly visible as the exterior takes shape.

The design makes use of the sloping site to maximise sunlight and passive solar gain, alongside a super-insulated timber frame, triple-glazed alu-clad timber windows, geothermal heating and heat recovery ventilation.

Located close to Lahinch Golf Course, the project sits in one of Ireland’s best-known coastal resorts and surf centres on the Wild Atlantic Way.

Planning permission has been granted for three sustainably designed eco tourist cabins in Mountshannon, Co. Clare, on the shore of Lough Derg.

The project forms part of a wider low-impact tourism development designed around landscape integration, reduced environmental impact and long-term sustainability. The cabins are raised on screw foundations to limit the impact on the site and use timber and natural materials throughout as part of the overall sustainable design approach.

Careful consideration has been given to solar orientation, privacy, prevailing winds and the relationship between the cabins and the surrounding landscape.

We’ve recently completed this house in Kildangan, near Puckane in Co. Tipperary, and have put together a walkthrough video of the finished interior.

The house combines a reinterpretation of traditional rural form with a considered low-energy approach. Openings are carefully arranged to support passive solar gain, with reduced glazing on the north-facing elevation and larger areas oriented west to capture afternoon light and views across the garden and surrounding countryside.

The house is constructed using a timber frame system with high levels of insulation, airtight construction and mechanical ventilation with heat recovery. Heating is provided by an air-to-water heat pump with underfloor heating throughout

We’ve completed a Passive House on Ireland’s Atlantic Coast in County Clare.

This low-energy coastal home was designed in line with Passive House principles, combining airtight construction (below 0.6 ACH), mechanical ventilation with heat recovery and a high-performance thermal envelope to deliver stable comfort in an exposed Atlantic setting.

South-facing glazing maximises passive solar gain while careful detailing ensures long-term energy performance.

Construction is now underway on our stone cottage renovation and extension on the Irish coast, Co. Galway. The project combines an full retrofit of the existing cottage with a contemporary extension that will open the home to sweeping coastal views. The public-facing elevation will retain its traditional character, while the new extension will deliver generous living spaces and high levels of energy efficiency.
