🌱 Small amounts. An important job.

Plants need zinc—even though they only need a little.

This essential trace element helps plants:
🌿 Keep growth enzymes working
🌿 Make proteins and carbohydrates
🌿 Maintain normal chlorophyll formation

From grassland to the vegetable patch, balanced nutrition matters.

When zinc is lacking, growth can suffer. Better Plants liquid seaw**d provides the right zinc balance to keep your plants healthy.

At Better Plants, we cold-press our liquid seaw**d from Irish seaw**d without harsh chemicals.

One of its natural compounds is called laminarin.

Brown seaw**d makes laminarin as an energy reserve. Research has shown that it can also trigger a plant’s own defence responses.

Think of it as sounding a little alarm inside the plant, switching on some of its protective processes.

That’s one reason scientists are interested in seaw**d. But laminarin is only part of the picture: brown seaw**d also contains mannitol, alginates and other natural compounds.

At Better Plants, our liquid seaw**d is cold-pressed from Irish seaw**d without harsh chemicals.

Keep the basics right too—healthy soil, suitable nutrition and enough moisture. If a plant already has a disease problem, identify it and deal with it rather than relying on a seaw**d feed to cure it.

🌱 Why Not All Liquid Seaw**ds Are the Same.

You might think liquid seaw**d is liquid seaw**d — but how it’s extracted makes a big difference.

At Better Plants, we use a gentle cold extraction process designed to preserve as much of the naturally occurring goodness in the seaw**d as possible.

🌿 Why is our seaw**d olive green?

Our liquid seaw**d has a natural olive-green colour. This comes from our gentle extraction process, rather than using high temperatures or harsh processing.

The aim is simple: take what nature has put into the seaw**d and preserve it for the plant.

💧 Feed from the top down AND the bottom up

Better Plants Liquid Seaw**d can be used in two ways:

🌱 Foliar spray — applied directly to the leaves.

🌱 Root drench — applied around the roots to support the plant and soil.

Or use both, giving the plant support from the leaves down and the roots up.

Suitable for vegetables, flowers, lawns, trees, shrubs, fruit and indoor plants.

🌊 Irish seaw**d. Gentle extraction. Better Plants.

𝐒𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐒𝐨𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐬 – 𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐆𝐨𝐥𝐝

We’re carrying out some simple trials to see how our products can help with seed germination and early growth.

Two boxes:
🌱 Same soil
🌱 Same amount of seed
🌱 Same growing conditions

Left box: Treated with Black Gold – Humic & Fulvic Acid
Right box: Water only

So far, we’re seeing a clear difference.

The seed treated with Black Gold has:
✅ A higher germination rate
✅ More even germination across the box
✅ Better moisture retention in the soil

One thing that really stood out during the recent hot days was that the Black Gold treated soil didn’t dry out as quickly.

Early results are looking very promising. 🌱

Next stage: Once the grass reaches around 3–4 inches, we’ll apply our liquid fertiliser and continue to follow the results.

More updates to come as the trial progresses.

𝐁𝐑𝐔𝐒𝐒𝐄𝐋𝐒 𝐒𝐎𝐋𝐃 𝐎𝐔𝐓 𝐈𝐑𝐈𝐒𝐇 𝐆𝐑𝐎𝐖𝐄𝐑𝐒

Ireland has lost over 6,000 farms in the last ten years.
Average farm size keeps climbing while the number of independent growers keeps shrinking.

Now the EU has just handed the seed industry an even bigger advantage.
On 17 June, the European Parliament deregulated new gene-edited crops.

𝐍𝐨 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠. 𝐍𝐨 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲. And the traits inside these crops are patented — owned by the likes of Bayer and Syngenta.

Here's the part that should worry every grower: without traceability, if your crop naturally develops a trait too close to one of their patents, you can be exposed to a claim. Even by accident. Even if you never touched their seed.

𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭'𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐚 𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐈𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐟𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐬. 𝐈𝐭'𝐬 𝐚 𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐰𝐡𝐨𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐰𝐧𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭.

Big companies didn't need to win this fight in the fields. They won it in Brussels.
Small growers can't absorb that risk. Big agribusiness can. So guess who this consolidates power toward.

Our cold-pressed liquid seaw**d is packed with natural sugars — things like laminarin, mannitol, and alginate. These act as food for the good bacteria and fungi living in your soil.

Here's the chain reaction: 🌊 Sugars feed soil microbes → 🦠 Microbes get more active → 🌱 Your plants get better roots, better nutrients, and healthier soil.

So every time you feed your plants seaw**d, you're feeding the soil underneath too.

𝑨𝒑𝒉𝒊𝒅 𝑻𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 – 𝑫𝒂𝒚 2 🌿🐛

Two days after treating this plum tree with our Better Plants Liquid Biostimulant, the leaves are already looking healthier with a noticeable shine.

There are still plenty of aphids on the top shoots, but remember—the aim isn’t just to kill insects. It’s to build a stronger, healthier plant that’s better able to cope with pest pressure and recover naturally.

As the late Geordie Mitchell sang :

“I don’t care about the spots on the apples, just leave me the birds and the bees.”

🌿 Aphids damaging your plants?

Aphids feed on the sap of plants, weakening growth and causing leaves to curl and distort.

Instead of reaching for harsh chemicals that can harm beneficial insects like ladybirds and pollinators, I prefer to strengthen the plant naturally.

Our Better Plants Liquid Biostimulant, made with seaw**d and amino acids, helps support healthy growth and natural plant resilience.

A stronger plant is better able to cope with stress, pests, and disease.

🌱 Healthy plants, naturally.
