Part 2 of taking your through the process of bringing Residence 67 to life.

In the living room, we absorbed the original balcony into the living room to increase space and establish a direct line to the outdoor deck. By installing larger windows alongside warmer interior tones, we flooded th ed the ground floor with natural light—to an honest point where there are almost more windows than walls.

The deck itself was engineered specifically for entertaining, featuring a mini amphitheater next to an outdoor lounge area that is accessible from both the living room and kitchen, with the dining room balcony looking over it.

The extensive restructuring ultimately came down to solving spatial problems while also working around what truly mattered, like the beautiful tree right outside. Incorporating that existing greenery gave the home its timeless, natural character while fully delivering on every functional requirement.

Residence 67 • Part 1

For this project, our primary focus was improving functionality while honoring the charm of this beautiful, classic apartment. The original layout was quite old-school and didn't fit modern everyday living or hosting.

The civil work that does the heavy lifting before the construction even begins contributes towards how a space feels, light shaping the space, designing around the complexities and intricacies to ensure nothing falls apart.

Sometimes, solving a home's biggest layout flaw requires taking a leap—like completely re-imagining structural functions, rerouting plumbing, and prioritizing daily movement that contribute towards maximizing the utility of what the space has to provide.

When you get the civil foundation right, everything else falls into place effortlessly.

Residence 67

On the first floor, we created the family room.
By pulling in the balcony, we created more space for a lounging area meant for movie nights, match screenings and family time.

The fluted glass partition offers the best of both worlds, open and connected when the house is full of life, or drawn shut when you want it quiet.

Meanwhile, the powder bath is a small, opulent surprise, with vertical fluted tiles rising floor to ceiling, and an antique brass mirror that lends the space old-world charm.

Residence 67

This kids’ room started as a layout problem before it became a design one. The balcony was tiny, so we brought it into the room through civil work, pushing the wall line out and opening up the space. That corner became a cosy bay-window niche the kids can actually sit and play in, and the room itself picked up real square footage in the process.

The kids loved an animal theme, so the design leaned right into it, elephants, zebras, and palms wrap the walls, balanced with warm wood tones that keep it reading spacious and grounded rather than busy.

The playfulness didn’t stop at the bedroom door. bright colors and fun fixtures (think starfish k***s, a playful mirror frame) carried the same energy into the bathroom.

Play got its own corner too: a wall-mounted climbing frame and pegboard turn it into an activity zone, and rattan-paneled wardrobes keep the storage in on the jungle story instead of breaking it.

Residence 67

The hardest part of this bathroom wasn’t making it look good; it was solving the structural puzzle. This project was proof that layout and civil work do the heavy lifting long before finishes ever enter the conversation. We started by hiding the entrance within a seamless paneled wall using a pocket door system.

The interior was then split into dedicated zones for the WC, shower, and a double vanity, featuring a lowered ceiling detail above the “his-and-hers” sinks that cleanly conceals the geyser unit.

The master bedroom underwent the most radical layout shift of the entire project to introduce dedicated amenities the original plan lacked. We re-engineered the footprint by absorbing the balcony and reclaiming square footage from the washroom to build out a spacious “his-and-hers” walk-in wardrobe.

At the entry, an added console and mirror improve the overall spatial flow and create an immediate visual anchor. To give the room a distinct character, we introduced crisp wainscoting and cornice detailing behind the headboard to frame the accent wallpaper. As for the bed, we refurbished the original frame in a light beige.

Finding the perfect layout for this space wasn’t easy.
More on the bathroom and walk in wardrobe design next.

The kitchen played an integral role in deciding the rhythm of the home...and the original layout simply didn't do it justice.

To give the client the open, expansive footprint they wanted, we took on major civil work to relocate the kitchen entirely. The new layout unlocked room for a separate utility area, wider windows for natural light, paired with light mint blue cabinetry and intricate tiling to keep the space bright and weightless.

From there, a newly created doorway connects straight to an outdoor deck. This space was transformed into a mini sanctuary, surrounded by trees along with multiple seating areas designed for guests and larger gatherings at home.

Together, the kitchen and deck operate in tandem: one gives enough room for the everyday family routine, while also seamlessly connecting to the cosy outdoor space, for a family that often hosts.

Residence 67.

In this home, personality came from contrast: warm wood, sleek metallic accents, and the raw, tactile presence of a live-edge eight-seater dining table. Right alongside it, a backlit marble bar brings a layer of opulence, making every detail feel deliberate and thoroughly thought out.

Near the foyer, adding an arch helped soften the space, and concealed storage with wooden panelling added a layer of functionality to the living room.

Every decision was made keeping the client’s lifestyle in mind. Spacious enough to host, aesthetics that align with their vision and a sense of warmth that evolves with them.

Residence 67.

This home was all about spatial flow, natural light and transitioning an old school layout into a functional modern space.

We wanted to unlock the layout for contemporary living without losing the warmth of a real home.

In the living room, we absorbed the original balcony into the indoor footprint, creating more space to host larger groups of guests, including a direct line to the outdoor deck.

By installing larger windows and incorporating warmer tones, the space is flooded with natural light.

Modernizing this home wasn't just changing finishes; it was restructuring to give the space room to breathe.
