Nīrava is a contemporary tropical residence where earthy materials, natural light and carefully framed views create a calm and harmonious living environment. The 2700 sq.ft residence is designed as a contemporary family home that balances privacy, openness and connection with nature. The architecture combines a clean modern vocabulary with subtle elements of Kerala’s traditional residential architecture.
The house is planned for a family with four bedrooms, with spacious common areas forming the social core of the residence. Large timber-framed openings, shaded verandahs and deep roof overhangs provide a strong relationship between the interior and exterior while responding to the warm and humid tropical climate.
The combination of exposed brick, natural stone, white plaster, timber and terracotta roof tiles gives the residence a warm, earthy character. Green landscaping around the building softens the built form and creates a sense of privacy.
The design emphasises natural light, cross ventilation, shaded outdoor spaces and visual connections with greenery, creating a comfortable home that feels contemporary while remaining rooted in its regional context.
