There has always been a celebration in us.
Long before there were cameras to capture it, there were walls. Walls that bloomed with frescoes. Ceilings that caught the light the way a bride catches a glance. Floors inlaid with patterns a thousand years in the making.
Before there were posts and reels, there were hands. Hands that painted temples. Hands that carved sandstone. Hands that passed down ornament from mother to daughter, from master to apprentice, from one century to the next, as if beauty itself were a kind of inheritance.
Before there was Instagram, there was awe.
And across the generations, these walls, these ceilings, these floors, these borders and blooms, were touched by many hands. Pilgrims who reached up to feel the mandala above them. Children who traced the edge of a jaali with a fingertip. Travellers who came from far away and left with the pattern still echoing behind their eyes.
Our celebration has never been new. It has only been reimagined, generation after generation, in whatever medium our time has handed us.
Today, that same celebration arrives on a plate. On a cup. On a vessel that sits quietly in your home while modern life rushes past it.
A piece of your pride.
A piece of your culture.
A piece of your heritage.
Luxury, yes. But the quiet kind. The kind that does not need to shout, because it has been part of us for a very long time.
