A staircase, perceived not merely as a means of movement, but as a sculptural element within the house.

At Splitscape Residence, changing levels, light and framed views come together to make circulation an experience turning a compact home into a sequence of spaces to discover.

A bedroom framed by greenery on one side and a brick jaali on the other filtering light, air and views.

The Brick jaali becomes more than a screen; it adds texture, warmth, and a sense of privacy to the room.

Dwell in Levels explores architecture not as a collection of rooms, but as a continuous volume connected through section. Split levels create visual and spatial relationships across the home, where every movement reveals another layer of space.

Here, daylight is more than illumination, it becomes a building material. Filtered through the skylight, light settles across walls, floors, and voids, revealing the home's changing geometry through shifting patterns of shadow. As the day unfolds, light adds a new layer to the architecture, making the volume feel alive and constantly evolving.

When daylight fades, the façade comes alive in a different way.

By day, the corten steel jaali filters light, views and privacy. By night, it transforms the home into a glowing lantern—its warm light gently filtering through the screens, revealing depth, texture and life within. Rather than exposing the interiors, the jaali creates a soft, luminous veil that makes the entire residence feel like a lantern lighting up the street.

"The more complex the problem, the more the need for simplicity." — Ar.Alejandro Aravena

Every constraint holds the potential for an idea.

Splitscape Residence began with a compact 25' × 49' (1,225 sq. ft.) site and a generous brief: three bedrooms, provision for a future fourth bedroom, and parking for two cars and multiple bikes.

Rather than adding more, we asked how we could achieve more with less.

The result is a home shaped by minimalism—where every square foot has a purpose, every space serves more than one function, and simplicity becomes the driving force behind the design.

Because in architecture, the simplest solution is often the most meaningful, the most adaptable, and the most sustainable.
