Nelumbo, an installation shaped by the quiet movement of a lotus pond.

Hand-shaped glass forms come together with warm metal stems, creating a fluid composition of light, colour and reflection.

Designed for PIDILITE INDUSTRIES to become part of the space, rather than simply illuminate it.

Each glass form holds light differently — some softly, some with a glow, some with reflections that shift as you move around them.

Together, they create a constantly changing presence above the water.

Nature begins with a line, a fold, a curve.

For “Nelumbo”, we looked closely at the lotus leaf — its radiating veins, fluid edges, gentle folds and slender stems.

Named after “Nelumbo”, the botanical genus of the lotus, the piece explores the quiet structure and movement of the plant through glass.

Each detail became a point of exploration, translated into a sculptural lighting installation.

Every project begins with a way of seeing.

Before the sketches, the prototypes, or the making, there are quiet observations that continue to shape our practice. This is one of them.
