Meet the Amazing Sour Fruit: Bilimbi
The scientific name of Bilimbi is Averrhoa bilimbi.
It is also commonly known as
Cucumber Tree or Tree Sorrel
It belongs to the same genus as Averrhoa carambola (star fruit/carambola).
This plant bears fruits directly from trunk( stem) .. and gives me fruits 2-3 times in a year … This Tangy Tropical low maintenance fruit tree you surely must plant in garden🪴
Delicious Ways to Use Bilimbi:

🥗 Slice it into fresh salads for a zesty kick.

🥒 Make quick pickles or spicy chutneys.

🍛 Add it to fish, prawn, dal, or vegetable curries as a natural souring agent instead of tamarind.

🥣 Cook it into sambar or rasam for a refreshing tang.

Spotted this beautiful Black Diamond Red Crape Myrtle (Lagerstroemia indica cultivar) cluster of attractive red flowers in my garden today ..🪴A pretty ornamental small tree/ tall with deep burgundy–purple foliage and contrast bright red, flowers.
Flowering: Usually blooms heavily in warm months (often summer to monsoon in India).
Sun: Needs full sun (5–6+ hours daily) for best leaf colour and flowering. Best landscape plant for entrance or as a border in a row .. Native of India

Nature has the power to give us peace, healing our minds in such chaotic times… Our cities need to preserve its wealth of trees .. then only we will survive .
