Solving "I can't tell good stone from bad"
Most buyers — even experienced ones — struggle to tell premium marble from a lower-grade slab just by looking at a photo. And that's exactly how a lot of bad sourcing decisions happen. 😬
Before you approve a sample or confirm an order, here's a quick 3-point check:
✅ **Veining should flow naturally** — if it repeats in a pattern, it's likely a manufactured surface or a print-over effect, not natural stone.
✅ **A light tap should sound solid** — a hollow or dull thud often means inconsistent density or micro-fractures that won't survive installation or load stress.
✅ **Edges should be cleanly finished** — chipping, uneven cuts, or filled areas at the edges indicate processing issues that will compound once the slab is on a floor or wall.
These three checks take less than two minutes. They'll tell you more about a slab than most spec sheets will.
Save this before your next order. 📌 And if you're not sure what you're looking at, ask us — it's literally what we do.
