Five years of MUNCH. Five years of art, architecture and extraordinary encounters.
Five years ago today, MUNCH opened its doors in Oslo. Since then, the museum has welcomed more than 6 million visitors, opened 46 exhibitions and conserved more than 1,000 artworks.
At the heart of MUNCH is Edvard Munch’s extraordinary legacy. The museum holds almost 28,000 artworks, including one of the world’s largest collections of works by a single artist.
We are proud to have played a part in realizing this landmark cultural project, creating large-scale freestanding exhibition walls up to 3.8 metres high, alongside bespoke tables, benches, storage furniture and powder-coated steel barriers for the exhibition spaces, designed by Manthey Kula Arkitekter from Oslo.
Five years on, MUNCH continues to inspire millions, and we are proud to have played a part in this remarkable cultural landmark and wish the museum many more successful and inspiring years to come.
