Cantori Design Challenge | Morricone Reloaded
Interior Design by Giò Forma for Cantori Spa in collaboration
with Cantiere delle Marche | Explorer Yachting
For the Cantori Design Challenge 2026, Giò Forma reimagines life aboard the Flexplorer 146 through the language of Ennio Morricone, translating music into space, atmosphere and experience.
The sea becomes the score, the Flexplorer 146 the instrument, and the owner the protagonist of a story still to be written. Each route introduces a new rhythm, allowing the journey itself to become part of the composition.
Morricone Reloaded begins with a question: what happens when music becomes a way of designing space? Rhythm, pause, repetition and crescendo become architectural tools, shaping a journey that unfolds like a score.
Morricone's compositions do not simply accompany images. They build landscapes, evoke emotion and give shape to silence. His language, suspended between compositional rigour and experimentation, transforms music into a narrative force, capable of creating atmosphere and guiding the viewer's experience.
Sound becomes a generative principle. Inspired by cymatics, the project translates vibration into visible geometry.
Curves, waves, circles and rhythmic surfaces emerge as spatial traces, allowing sound to take physical form throughout the architecture.
The composition continues through material. Warm wood, reflective metal, marble, soft textiles and amber tones create contrasting registers of warmth, depth and resonance, giving physical character to the rhythm of the space.
Light becomes another layer of the composition. It marks transitions, changes atmosphere and gives each moment a different emotional register, allowing the same space to be perceived differently throughout the journey.
Behind the apparent simplicity of the spaces lies a hidden orchestra of sound, lighting and environmental systems.
Technology is integrated into the architecture so that it can shape the experience without becoming its protagonist.
Within the Owner's Cabin, the composition turns inward.
Sound, light and material create a more intimate register, shaping a private ritual in which the journey becomes personal, contemplative and entirely one's own.
The Immersive Room becomes a pause within the composition, a space where the journey continues through image, sound and suggestion, opening the experience to perspectives beyond the physical boundaries of the yacht.
The composition does not end at the edge of the yacht.
Its reflective hull absorbs and returns fragments of sea, sky, light and horizon, allowing the vessel's identity to shift with the landscapes it crosses and making the surrounding context an active part of the experience.
Reloaded carries the same idea into a visual gesture. Its identity emerges from movement, recalling both the sweep of a conductor's hand and the trace left by a vessel across the water.
Music, gesture and navigation become part of the same sign.
