Meet Tom Lacey, our Director of Architecture!

With 27 years of international experience across the UK and Italy, Tom has built a career delivering complex, high-profile projects across retail, residential, infrastructure and mixed-use developments.

Earlier in his career, he was part of Richard Rogers Partnership, now known as RSHP, where he contributed to Madrid International Airport, helping shape one of Europe’s most recognised transport hubs.

Today, Tom leads Oneworks' Architecture team, our largest discipline, guiding a multidisciplinary group of architects through every stage of the design process. Among the projects Tom leads at our studio is Westfield Milan in Segrate for Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield, an ambitious urban regeneration project set to become a landmark destination for the region.

Passionate about creating architecture that is both functional and enduring, Tom combines design excellence with technical rigour, working closely with clients and teams to bring complex projects to life.

Trieste has one of Europe's most extraordinary waterfronts. Porto Vecchio masterplan is about to make the most of it.

Oneworks is leading the design for this urban regeneration project commissioned by Costim for Comune di Trieste, repurposing the historic port infrastructure into a new urban district open to the city.

Once a strategic maritime and industrial hub, the area is being transformed into a vibrant mixed-use district where housing, hospitality, public spaces, leisure and green mobility come together along the Adriatic waterfront.

Rather than simply redeveloping the former port area, the project strengthens the relationship between the city, its waterfront and its community, creating a vibrant new district while preserving its distinctive maritime heritage.

DomusAir No. 16 has landed. Focused on one of the defining issues of our time: energy.

As electrification, artificial intelligence and evolving mobility networks reshape the built environment, the newest edition investigates energy not simply as a resource, but as a force influencing territories, economies and infrastructure.

Highlights include a data-driven report by Dario Liguti and Iva Brkic of UNECE on electrification and infrastructure resilience, a conversation between Silvia Botti and Giulio Sapelli of the Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei on the long-term challenges of the energy transition, and case studies from around the world by leading practices including MAD Architects, Grimshaw, Haptic Architects, Foster + Partners, Ross Barney Architects and Zaha Hadid Architects.

Meet Luca Vailati our Director of Site Supervision!

Luca is a Project Manager with extensive experience in large-scale and complex infrastructure projects.

His expertise covers all key aspects of project management, including strategic planning, cost and budget control, scheduling, quality assurance, contract administration, health, safety, and environmental management. He also provides end-to-end support to clients, from early brief development to final fit-out and furnishing solutions.

Among key projects is the ongoing expansion of Sharjah International Airport (UAE), a major development aimed at increasing capacity to 20 million passengers per year, including a new passenger terminal, a link building, and a VIP terminal. He has been also involved in the Riyadh Metro Western Station alongside the contractors’ joint venture, contributing to one of the network’s most iconic stations of the network, designed as a catalyst for urban regeneration.

Luca has contributed to a wide range of international projects across the Middle East and Europe, both as a consultant and today as part of Oneworks, spanning aviation, transportation, residential, retail, and hospitality sectors.

Bergamo is moving toward a more connected future.

With its airport and upcoming links to the European rail network, the city is expanding its public transport system through a major infrastructure project. Bergamo Train Station is an €80 million intervention designed to reconnect the city, link key civic destinations, and heal a long-standing urban divide created by the railway.

Led by NET Engineering, with architectural consultancy by Cino Zucchi Architetti and Oneworks, the project brings together urban design, technical innovation, and environmental sustainability to support Bergamo’s next phase of growth.

Some urban spaces tell the story of a city's future, and Piazzale Lugano is soon about to become one of them following the Comune di Milano’s approval of the implementation plan.

The new masterplan, designed by Oneworks and commissioned by EGI – Europa Gestioni Immobiliari S.p.A. (part of the Poste Italiane Group), will transform this 22,000 sqm site in north-west Milan. Once a postal sorting centre, the area is now set to become a landmark of urban regeneration.

Our vision has been to create a neighbourhood that breathes. Over 13,000 sqm of public space and 9,000 sqm of greenery will form a living, walkable corridor that reconnects Bovisa and Ghisolfa, two districts that have long been divided.

The masterplan integrates architecture and public realm through two mixed-use buildings that accommodate tertiary, commercial, and hospitality functions. These are integrated with a system of public spaces, where existing gardens are expanded into a continuous green corridor that will extend into the future park.

As part of the wider Scalo Farini transformation, the project establishes a strategic northern access to the future railway park. In doing so, it anticipates the broader transformation reshaping this part of the city and helps define what comes next.

Officina is a site-specific exhibition at our headquarters in Milan that brings together products, systems, and materials developed with our prestigious partner companies. Set within a temporary architecture made from reusable and ecological materials, it reveals the collaboration process where design, production, research, and application come together.
