Today, we brought together our transporter directors for a candid conversation on raising the bar in fleet operations andabove all, keeping safety at the heart of everything we do.
Inspired by the remarkable precision of Indiaβs Dabbawalas; an example shared by our CEO, Geoffrey Ndugwa and Supply Chain Director, Kassim Mohamed, the discussions challenged us to reflect on how strong systems, discipline, leadership and teamwork can deliver consistently high standards at scale.
From predictive and preventive fleet maintenance to proper journey planning, Stop Work Authority, accessible leadership and sustained investment in safety, we explored what it takes to build a truly safety-first culture. The conversations also covered opportunities to expand access to women drivers and provide our suppliers with greater access to bank financing.
One message stood out: safety must be a culture, not just a priority.
In his closing remarks, our CEO reinforced that while our business spans the logistics journey from materials to finished products, our transport partners have been an integral part of Bamburi Cementβs operations for the past 74 years. They are a critical part of how we deliver, and our commitment to safety remains unwavering.
As partners, we remain committed to zero fatalities, zero complacency and continuous improvement. Together, we can build safer fleets, stronger partnerships and better outcomes for everyone on the road.
