Your pool can look perfectly clear and still have areas where water is not moving well.
Circulation carries filtered and treated water around the pool. When the return jets are poorly directed, the pump is not performing as expected, or the pool shape creates sheltered areas, "dead zones" can develop. Steps, corners and spaces behind ladders are common places for debris or algae to return first.
Watch the whole pool, not only the centre. Are leaves gathering in one corner? Does one step feel slippery sooner? Are the return jets weak or producing bubbles? These signs do not always mean the same thing, but they are useful clues. Brushing supports movement in problem areas, while the equipment and jet direction may need checking.
