A new house does not have to be completed all at once.

For this family, the timing was important. Our client, a government servant approaching retirement, was still living in a rented condominium in Jalan Kuching. While waiting for retirement, the family would travel to their new home every weekend.

When we first visited the property, it was completely bare — essentially a blank canvas. Rather than recommending that everything be done immediately, we helped the family prioritise the essentials first:

• Kitchen Cabinet – allowing the family to prepare meals during their weekend visits.
• Window & Door Grille – adding practical security and peace of mind.
• Plaster Ceiling – giving the living and dining areas a more finished and comfortable appearance.

Our role was to turn the existing spaces into a home that feels more cohesive, welcoming and rental-ready.

What looks like a beautiful fluted-panel feature wall…
…is actually hiding a door to the bedroom corridor. 👀

For this condo, the homeowner wanted more privacy between the living area and the bedrooms as their children grew older.

So instead of installing a conventional door, we designed a concealed door integrated with Light Oak fluted panel.

The transformation gives the family:

THE DOOR YOU DON’T SEE — PRIVACY, DISGUISED AS DESIGN

Sometimes, the best design solution is the one you hardly notice.

For this customer, the challenge was clear: the corridor leading to the bedrooms and bathroom was too open to the living area. As the children grew older, the homeowner wanted greater privacy when family members moved in and out of the bedroom area — especially when guests were around.

Our solution was to transform the corridor entrance into a concealed door, finished with the same Light Oak fluted panel treatment as the surrounding feature wall.

The result?

✨ The entrance to the bedroom corridor becomes visually discreet.
✨ Family members can access the bedrooms and bathroom with greater privacy.
✨ The Light Oak finish blends naturally with the existing living-room furnishings.
✨ The fluted panel creates texture, warmth and a strong visual focal point.
✨ What was previously a circulation area becomes part of the living room's overall design.

Rather than simply "building a door", we integrated the door into the architecture of the wall — allowing functionality and aesthetics to work together.
