Every shutdown is an opportunity to restore performance.

Deep inside a ball mill at the Simberi operation, our team recently completed critical refurbishment works designed to prepare the asset for its next operating cycle.

What started as a worn internal surface following the removal of the existing rubber lining was transformed through abrasive blasting and the application of an F-15 protective lining system.

The project involved:

• Removal of the existing rubber lining
• Surface preparation using garnet abrasive media
• Application of F-15 spray lining
• Quality inspections and thickness verification throughout the process

From an exposed mill shell and rigorous surface preparation, through to the application of the new protective lining and final inspection, every stage was completed with a focus on workmanship, quality assurance, and long-term asset protection.

Delivering quality refurbishment at scale, High Arctic Energy Services Ltd entrusted ShieldCrete® South Pacific Ltd with the complete refurbishment of 64 accommodation camp units, including sleeping quarters, ablution facilities, kitchens, laundries, and storage containers.

Completed at our dedicated Blast & Paint Facility in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, this project involved comprehensive surface preparation, structural repairs, corrosion control, protective coating application, and asset restoration designed to return each unit to operational readiness.

Featured Project - Application of the BeltShield® system to replenish the rubber cover to get the belt through the 6 weeks until a major shut down.

Pilbara, WA, Australia - The client was one of the biggest iron ore miners in the world. They wanted to get the 20km conveyor to last until their next major shut down. As the first fullscale trial, our client applied the BeltShield® system to the belt when it was stationary. The belt owner wanted 6 weeks. Turns out it was still going 12 months later! They did further sectiosn of the belt in additional short shuts and are now talking about using the BeltShield® system to extend the belt replacement by up to 5 years!

The BeltShield® system is a 100% solids primer and a 100% solids polyurea top coat specifically designed to stick to rubber and withstand the forces on the products as they go over the head rollers within minutes of application.

The ShieldPrime SP and ShieldPrime CV systems are revolutionary in that they are the first 100% solids primer that bonds to rubber as well if not better than the heavily solvented products that crews are typically subjected to.
