🌺 Amaryllis Questions & Answers – How to Pollinate an Amaryllis 🌱
Did you know that Amaryllis can produce seeds and don't only multiply by baby or daughter bulbs?
In this video, I show you how to pollinate the stigma of an Amaryllis flower and how you can get seeds from your own plants. 🌺
When all three lobes of the stigma are successfully pollinated, the flower can develop a seed pod containing 30 or even more seeds! 🌱
And here is the exciting part…
You can plant those seeds and, under good growing conditions, they can produce flowering Amaryllis in around 3–4 years. 🌺
Think about it — you won't get 30 or more baby bulbs from one mother bulb in just a few years, but one successful seed pod can give you dozens of new plants!
This is also how I started becoming interested in crossing and growing Amaryllis from seed — you never quite know what beautiful flower might come from it. ❤️🌺
