We’ve just finished installing three shade sails over Kohia Terrace School's top court, turning an exposed hard-court area into a cool, sun-safe space where students can play, gather and enjoy their lunch, even in the peak of summer.

New Zealand has some of the highest UV levels in the world, so shade over high-use outdoor areas makes a real difference for tamariki who spend breaks and PE outside. It was great to work with the Kohia Terrace team to create a space that’s both practical and good to look at.

A big thank you to the school for trusting us with the project. We hope the students get plenty of sunny days out of it!
