Engineered infill subsoil, strict residents’ association covenants, stormwater complexity, and a microclimate of salt, wind, and relentless sun.

From tired office block to Auckland's most talked-about park side address.

When Precinct set out to turn an office building into luxury apartments overlooking Auckland Domain, the brief for us was simple to say and hard to do - make the podium landscape feel like it had always belonged there.

Working from O2 Landscapes' design — inspired by the volcanic lava fields and wildflowers of the Auckland Domain our crew sourced hard-to-find plant species and installed them on high-rise balconies using rope access systems, rigging and climbing our way balcony by balcony, where no crane could reach.

Add bespoke planters built around fall-height barriers, Timaru Bluestone laid in a staggered offset on a pedestal system, and tight collaboration with the structural engineers to work within minimal planter depths and weight loadings and you get a result that presents as mature and established, not bolted on.

It's proof that even the toughest podium sites can be transformed into something that genuinely feels like a park, not just proximity to one.

So proud to see these playgrounds getting the love they deserve! 🛝❤️

We had the privilege of helping Auckland Council design, build, and install many of these fun, unique spaces — from the epic flying fox to the pirate ships and lighthouse.

Nothing beats seeing tamariki laughing, climbing, and making memories in them.

This marks the final chapter in a seven-year journey, delivering a refined boardwalk solution within a highly constrained and technically demanding environment. The integrated garden lighting and glass balustrade detailing elevate the user experience while reinforcing the project’s visual impact. A strong example of landscape delivery where technical performance and aesthetic quality work hand in hand.

This boardwalk may be modest in scale, but it required a significant level of expertise. Built above a major underground service network, over an overland flow path, and within the middle of a busy construction site, it called for careful coordination and delivery at every stage.
