I still be packing... But plenty to choose from, some are "lucky dip" AKA unknown, or in the case of ADHD "forgotten" but I don't grow singles or anything unusable in the cutting gardens, so be good still!

Hi everyone, what a fantastic sunny day again!

Dahlia tubers for sale tomorrow morning, (on my deck, so rain or shine) 10.30 am - 12.00pm.

Please respect the time, this is my family home, and I can't wait around all day in case someone drops in. The gate will be open between the mentioned time only.
I do have a drive through setup, but please park at the house.
This is not set-up for walk arounds, once again, it's my personal space.
I do have dogs, they're old and partly deaf, but they won't eat you!
Cash preferred, but can do bank transfer with sighting transaction.

I will have everything labeled, but if unsure of look, I will show photos tomorrow.
I just don't have the time to print out photos!
I'll ATTEMPT to get more information with photos up later.

What a day! 60 dahlia seedlings planted, 50 ish tubers planted... I did 10 in total 😂

After tearing the tendon in my elbow months ago, then re-injuring it by "catching my fall" about 6 weeks ago, it's not healing anymore, so lot's of injections next week (I've only ever had local anesthetic at the dentist 😂), so not looking forward to it. Can't remember the procedure name, but they'll numb the elbow, then basically inject my own blood platelets directly to the site! I'm hoping to watch it once it's numb, as I do find it interesting 🤔, and if I can't feel it....

Anyway, I'm on light duties, because apparently I'm terrible at listening and following instructions, when it comes to self preservation 😂

So, thanks to my minions, aka the hubby and daughter, I was sorting, organizing, measuring (yes, I make the most of my space) and general quality control 😂. Oh, and left handed watering with the hose, as it's the little movements that cause the most pain!

Then, because the hubby is flipping awesome 🤫, he cooked beautifully fresh gurnard for our dinner tonight, that he caught yesterday. (I popped to the Pelorus Tavern - Trout Hotel for the chips, as you just can't beat them) Yep, I'm pretty well looked after ☺️

Hi everyone... Dahlia update!

I will list below the tubers I have available.
I haven't counted numbers yet, some I may have two of some, maybe 10 of others...

I am not posting, and not holding. They will be sold bare rooted (they're still in bulk trays), I'll be wrapping them in medium and paper upon pickup. Aiming for Monday morning at this stage.

Every tuber will have at least one eye, some with young leaves, and others way ahead, with 3-4 sets of leaves.

They've all been spending the last week outside acclimatizing to the hot days in full sun. They're ready to go in our climate.

I will get pricing sorted, not there yet, just began planting my stock today.
But, they will range from $5 - $15 each.

Update...
Spring! We're midway already.
I'm busy, busy, busy, using as much of my spare time weeding, feeding and mulching, and preparing for my dahlias to be planted.
60 dahlia seedlings have survived to be planted, thanks to birds pecking off tops too early, and slugs getting through the defenses.
I will also be planting approximately 90 tubers, so fingers crossed for a bumper summer crop.
The sunflowers are coming up, the lilies are growing like no tomorrow, and the alstromeria are finally budding up. It's been a warm, but weird start to the season here, but ah well, it's now finally rolling along, and I'm sure I'll be able to get flower numbers along soon enough.

I'm definitely going to have excess dahlia tubers, and will likely aim for a wee sale Marlborough anniversary weekend.

Dahlia seedlings look great, need to condition them to the outside world, then plant in the next week or two...
Ground temp is good, but will likely cover for the first 3-4 weeks, as weather is still a little unpredictable!

Seeing plenty of growth with the tubers. I'm not in a rush to plant them, as they are heat lovers, and I have time. They don't enjoy the cold, but if they outgrow their shallow trays, they'll go in, and get covered too.

What's happening in the garden at the moment...
The crappy winds a short while ago haven't helped my ranunculus, but I'm hoping to see blooms soon!
The tulips are once again hit and miss, but like the ranunculus, don't like the heat, so haven't been covered to stop wind and rain damage.

But.... Look at the lilies coming through!
I dug all the patches, and replanted the largest bulbs (been nearly 4 years, so they needed it!)
I have hundreds coming through, yay 😊
I popped all the little ones, that won't do much this season, into pots to grow on and develop.

Then, I just took some pics of little bits and bobs. Spring is definitely on her way.

P.S. Don't use a sh*tty cell phone to photograph a very white cat in bright sunlight!
