Come along on a little journey with us to explore the new Marsden Cove playground 🛝

From the bike track winding around the climbing tower to the steppers leading up the planted mound and down to the slide, there’s plenty for little adventurers to explore.

Looking forward to seeing the planting mature and the playground settling into its surroundings

Found this little gem over the weekend on a road trip — our native white clematis, Clematis paniculata (puawānanga). 🤍

Amazing to see it growing naturally. A true New Zealand native, this evergreen woody climber can grow high into the forest canopy, with beautiful silvery, fluffy seed heads appearing after flowering.

This beauty can also be brought into garden design, in the right location, where it can be encouraged to climb through trees, over structures or along a trellis. A lovely way to add a natural layer of seasonal interest while connecting the garden back to our native landscape. 🌿

If you’re heading north on a roadie over the next few weeks keep an eye out for its white flowers floating through the canopy of manuka and other native trees. It’s one of NZ's little treasures, only seen in flower between August and November.

A revisit to a garden in Marsden from a few years ago, now well established. A mix of grasses, groundcovers and colour works within the coastal setting, helping to soften the stone retaining walls and steps.

Integrating edible plants into an ornamental garden enhances biodiversity, uses space efficiently and provides a generous harvest of organic produce. Some great choices include Plums, Grapes, Passionfruit, Blueberries and Ballerina Apples.
