Last Light Visit on Sunday 18th October 2026...

She was Overflowing after the rain...

Thursday 15th October 2026...

Brad alerted me to the water level being the highest yet...90mm under the top of the liner...

The grass seed is beginning to sprout & more temporary drainage channels created after the rain...

But
Oh
What a beautiful sight...

She's a big job
But oh so lovely...

Sonday Sunday
11th October 2026...

While Brad was Inside the house carefully removing the timber floor...
My job this afternoon was collecting/rescuing a dozen or more Ferns & wetland plants from a property being slowly pulled down...

Such Fun...

These Gorgeous Ferns were left behind & we are so so so Grateful to our good friends for allowing Brad & I to reclaim what was destined for demolition...

I was able to trim them, w**d them (as much as I could in the time I had) & get them in position in what was/is our wetland next to the Dam & Overflow pipe next to the Pond/Plunge pool...

It's another Beautiful moment...

Follow On from Yesterday (Saturday afternoon 10th October 2026) & a wee grumble at the end...

But basically I'm not too sure how much longer our page will be operational on Ficklebook as I/we refuse to update, upgrade (keep up with the Jones) or use AI...

Other than that
We had a beautiful afternoon...buying more gorgeous natives from Max (& for some stupid reason I can't tag his nursery) for his assistance...
Huge shout at to Fred from Brads work (who I also am unable to tag)
For the gifted grass seed & loan of the Old Skool Spinner...

As always...
She's a Big Job but oh so Wonderful to be doing...

Thursday 8th October 2026...

It's our Date Night...

What better way to celebrate than watching the Glorious Sun set then off to acquire some native timber flooring destined for the scrapyard...

& oh!! Some more French Doors...

& oh!! Brad welded the floor removing steel gadgets from metal in the scrap bin...

Good Morning Wednesday
7th October 2026...

Brad & I are onsite pretty much daily...
I'm looking at heading up there today to do the wee bit that I'm physically able to do (dig up buttercup is a great start)

But here's a couple of pictures from last night...

& oh!!! We had our very first cups of spring water!! Unreal!! So so quenching...

Honestly

With the state of this "crazy" world in Such Times As These...

Being here is incredibly resetting for our Spirits...

Good Morning Restoration Lovers...

I took this photo on Wednesday
The lake/pond/plunge pool is rising 40-50mm a day...

Brad & I have planted a
Kowhai (Gift)
H**e (Gift)
Marigold
Karo
Corokia
Taupata
Kanuka
Kahikatea
Many small/medium Harakeke...

This coming Saturday it's a mix of getting house "stuff" from another property
&
Sourcing more plants/Harakeke
Fixing up collapsing ledges & starting on sorting more drainage...

We found another spring on property & need to channel it...

She's a big job
But oh so Beautiful...

We don't recall giving permission for the random sheet of iron access onto our sloooooow Restoration Rahotu project here...

Brad had to drag him in by the scruff of his neck & put him in his place...
