Today, I am enjoing the fresh, vibrant colours of spring popping on my Claret Ash trees. There is truly nothing quite like watching the garden grow day by day 🪴

​With the Hurunui Garden Festival just a few short weeks away, to be completely honest, it is definitely a nerve-wracking time of year. As a solo gardener, the constant worry of whether everything will look its best in time can really keep me on my toes! But nature always has a way of working its magic.

​I'm sitting back on my lounger drinking tea and loving the view. I can't wait to share it with you ☕️

These lovely indoor plants have all been grown with love by my Mum (in her late 80's) who simply enjoys growing things and sharing that love with others. And now they’re ready to find new homes!

Spring is putting on such a show at Terrace View Garden today! 🌸
​The rhododendrons are starting to bloom, and this morning I even caught a gorgeous male quail singing up a tree. With all the birds chirping away under that clear blue sky, it was just the most beautiful day out gardening this afternoon 💚

The garden is open from the 29th October until the 1st November as part of the Hurunui Garden Festival

🌼 A little daffodil memory…

When I was a child, my Granny had a whole paddock of daffodils. One day my cousin and I decided we should pick some for her.

Well… we didn't just pick some. We picked bunches and bunches and bunches! 😂

We thought Granny would be so happy with all the beautiful flowers we'd picked for her.

Instead, she panicked! 😂

All I can remember is her putting armfuls of daffodils into the big boot of her car and telling us we were going to have to deliver them to all the hospitals!

I'm sure she wasn't quite as impressed with our helpfulness as we thought she would be. 😂🌼

Funny the little memories that stay with you all these years later. ❤️

A little taste of all four seasons in one day! ❄️🌷

Today we had just a wee skiff of snow in the garden — while everything else is busy waking up for spring. 🌱🌸

Spring weather can certainly keep us guessing, but there’s something rather pretty about a dusting of snow amongst the spring flowers. 🤍

The garden will be open for the Hurunui Garden Festival, so there’s plenty of growing to do yet! 🌷🌿

🌸 A little bit of spring from Terrace View Garden

Spring is definitely starting to make an appearance! There’s nothing quite like wandering around the garden and discovering the first little flowers popping up after winter. 🌱💕

I’m sharing a few of the early spring blooms with you today — just little reminders that warmer days and lots more colour are on their way.

I love this time of year… although I suspect the garden is about to give me plenty of work to do! 😂🌿

🌺 Greetings from tropical Rarotonga! 🌴

While I’m enjoying the lush tropical gardens here, I’m hoping my own garden back home at Terrace View Garden is flourishing without me! 😂🌿

I couldn’t resist sharing some of these beautiful flowers with you. They’re a wonderful reminder of just how incredible plants can be.
