Decades before the "Slow Food" movement came into existence, we at Dubricon were already doing "slow clay prep".
Ancient (circa 1950's) now almost impossible to replace machinery make clay 'donuts' out of raw red clay to create a clay body that has been described by some ceramic aficionados as 'skin-tight', clean ;as in bereft of any organic matter like roots, stones, sand, anything that would detract from a 'homogenous' clay body state.
"Makinis" in the local lingo and much less water absorbent than typical brick bodies.
Bonus points and Fun Fact: less prone to 'lumot'(moss).
And once extruded at a high pressure and fired at 900 degrees Centigrade, so darn durable that sometimes the tiles 'bounce' when they fall off a table. And make a distinguishable 'tinkling' sound.
So unlike 'fast' processed foods, "Slow Ceramics" is good value for your money.
And our clients share and participate in the heritage of an antiquated, 'slow' manufacturing tradition (since 1962).
But best of all, our manufacturing process provides employment!
