From 19 to 26 number of fenestrations. 😍☘️

How to increase the number of fenestration in monstera deliciosa leaves?

If you want your Monstera deliciosa to develop more fenestrations (the splits and holes in mature leaves), the biggest factor is maturity + strong growing conditions.

🌿 What helps most

Give it lots of bright, indirect light

This is probably the most important environmental factor.
A few hours of gentle morning sun can be excellent.
Avoid harsh midday/direct afternoon sun that can scorch the leaves.
If light is low, the plant may produce smaller, less-fenestrated leaves.

Let the plant climb

Give it a moss pole, coco coir pole, or sturdy trellis.
Monstera deliciosa is a climbing aroid. As it climbs and matures, its leaves naturally become larger and more fenestrated.
Secure the stem to the support rather than tightly tying the leaf petioles.

Keep it actively growing

Warm temperatures, adequate humidity, water, and nutrition allow the plant to produce larger mature leaves.
Roughly 18–30°C is a comfortable growing range.
Consistent humidity around 50–70% is helpful, although established Monsteras can tolerate lower humidity.

Water properly

Water thoroughly when the upper portion of the soil has dried, then let excess water drain.
Don't keep the soil constantly soggy; root problems will reduce growth and leaf quality.

Feed during active growth

Use a balanced fertilizer at a diluted rate during the growing season.
Good nutrition supports larger leaves, which are more likely to develop extensive fenestration.
Don't overfertilize—more fertilizer doesn't mean more holes.

Syngonium Pink Spot (often sold as Syngonium podophyllum ‘Pink Spot’) is a relatively easy houseplant, but its pink variegation looks best with the right light.

🌱 Care guide

Light: Bright, indirect light. A little gentle morning/evening sun is okay, but harsh midday sun can scorch the leaves. More light generally helps maintain the pink coloration.

Water: Water when the top 2–5 cm (1–2 in) of soil feels dry. Water thoroughly, then let excess drain away. Avoid keeping the soil constantly soggy.

Humidity: Prefers 50–70%+ humidity, though it can tolerate average indoor humidity.

Temperature: Ideally 18–30°C (65–86°F). Protect from cold drafts and temperatures below about 15°C/59°F.

Soil: Use a loose, well-draining aroid mix—e.g. potting soil + perlite + orchid bark.

Fertilizer: During active growth, feed with a balanced houseplant fertilizer at about ½ strength every 3–4 weeks.

Repotting: Move up one pot size when roots are filling the container or coming through the drainage holes.

Pruning: Trim leggy stems to encourage bushier growth. You can also let it climb a moss pole or trail.

💗 Keeping the pink spots
If new leaves are becoming mostly green, increase bright indirect light gradually. If leaves develop bleached/brown patches, the plant may be getting too much direct sun.

A heartleaf philodendron (Heartleaf philodendron) is one of the easiest and most forgiving houseplants.

Here's how to keep it thriving:

Light: Bright, indirect light is ideal. It also tolerates medium and even low light, but growth will be slower. Avoid prolonged direct afternoon sun, which can scorch the leaves.

Water: Water when the top 1–2 inches (2.5–5 cm) of soil feel dry. Water thoroughly until excess drains out, then empty the saucer. Overwatering is the most common cause of problems.

Humidity: Average indoor humidity is usually fine, but the plant will grow larger leaves in higher humidity (40–60% or more).

Temperature: Keep it between 65–85°F (18–29°C). Protect it from cold drafts and temperatures below about 55°F (13°C).

Soil: Use a well-draining indoor potting mix. A mix with perlite and orchid bark works especially well.

Fertilizer: Feed with a balanced liquid houseplant fertilizer at half strength once a month during spring and summer. Little to no fertilizer is needed in winter.

Pruning: Trim long vines to encourage fuller growth. You can easily propagate stem cuttings in water or directly in moist soil.

Support: Let it trail from a hanging basket or give it a moss pole or trellis to climb. Climbing plants often produce larger leaves.
