What began as a renovation shaped by existing conditions has resulted in spaces that feel distinctly modren through refined proportions, material choices, furniture, and carefully resolved details.

The final spaces tell a different story from the challenges behind them.

More on 161 Residence, soon.

Renovating what already exists comes with its own set of surprises.

This 30-year-old residence was reworked into a refined, contemporary home while keeping structural intervention to a minimum.

The Tkxel office transforms everyday work through light, material, and interaction. Existing concrete columns become moments of colour, framed by windows that extend views toward the city. Integrated benches create informal spaces for pause, exchange, and collaboration, while a Barrisol-lit ceiling element introduces a soft, skylight-like quality to the interior.

Carefully concealed light sources minimise reflections across the glass partitions, reducing visual noise and maintaining clear sightlines throughout the workspace. Balanced with greenery, natural views, and moments of interaction, the design creates a workplace with a distinct sense of purpose one that supports both productivity and experience.

Designed around the evolving dynamics of the workplace, Tkxel
brings together openness, visual connectivity, and an industrial
contemporary material language. Exposed ceilings, black framed
glazing, and generous windows create a bright and connected
environment, while glass meeting rooms provide privacy without
compromising visual interaction. A stainless steel slide introduces
an unexpected element of play, adding character to the workplace
while reflecting a culture of collaboration, creativity, and movement.

Designed around the way work unfolds, tkxel combines open workspaces with defined zones for focus, interaction, and pause. A palette of concrete, timber, glass, and bold accents gives the interior a distinct identity while keeping the workplace functional, flexible, and connected.

The measure of a workplace lies not only in how it functions, but in how its spaces shape the everyday experience. At Tkxel, the interior is carefully articulated through open work areas, collaborative spaces, informal breakout zones and moments of pause, creating a balanced environment that supports both productivity and interaction. Materiality, spatial planning and natural light comes together to bring comfort and character to the workplace.

Tkxel embraces the raw character of exposed concrete, balanced by warm
furniture, natural light, and carefully selected tones. The contrast creates a
workspace that feels refined yet approachable, allowing the architecture to
remain expressive without becoming overwhelming.

Here, material and atmosphere work together to create a setting that feels
distinctly contemporary, while remaining comfortable and people centered.
