This book frequently uses the word ‘we’. We, as in the general public, engaged citizens, humans of planet Earth… And we, Mouna Andraos and Melissa Mongiat, together with our team at Daily tous les jours, as we seek new models for living together. Welcome to our journal.

We crave living in environments that support us, nourish us and inspire us. We dream of places to go through our lives together, inclusively and tolerantly. Can we re-enchant the raw material of our collective daily experiences?

We have been creating interactive art and narrative experiences in public spaces around the world for fifteen years. Using music, dance, art, and other mediums to emphasize the joyful, whimsical, and unexpected, we create moments of connection and care between strangers.

Through this book, we share our experience in building an emergent practice combining technology, storytelling, performance, and design, while asking fundamental questions to create meaningful work in a world in crisis. Meet us outside the urban masterplan, where we experiment with infrastructure for the human spirit.

With images by Robert Capa and Gerda Taro, Death in the Making was a poignant tribute to the men and women, civilians and soldiers alike, who were fighting in Spain against Franco's oppressive and fascist insurrection. The book included only one year of images, but covered the spectrum of emotions of a civil war, from the initial excitement to the more harrowing realities of modern warfare.
After World War II and the rising fear of Communism in the United States made association with the Spanish Civil War a liability, the book was forgotten. Today Death in the Making is newly appreciated for its call to arms against rising fascist threat.
This new publication replicates the original layout by photographer André Kertész, the original caption text by Capa and preface by writer Jay Allen, and also dramatically improves the image quality of the first edition. The new edition also includes an essay with new information about the making and the reception of the original book and a complete checklist identifying the author, location and date of each image. One of the most significant revelations is that Death in the Making contained unattributed photographs by Chim, later known as David Seymour, friend and colleague of Capa.

A study trip is a psychedelic journey you embark upon to learn about the world.

Whether you are looking to integrate a single experience into your life, or you have your own dedicated practice; whether you work with plants, meditations or other techniques; whether you are a creative professional or you simply wonder how psychedelics are linked to art, this book speaks to you. You might be curious, confused, excited or even a little scared, as the subject is often clouded in taboo. This book clarifies confusion and celebrates mystery.

Dozens of art and design examples illustrate and accompany chapters on all aspects of psychedelic study described in no-nonsense language, including intention, dosage, dangers, documentation, entities and encounters, substances and methods, co-creation and collaboration, not-knowing, non-action and much more.

Study Trip offers a lucid guide through artistic, scientific, social, material and spiritual issues around psychedelics, with the goal of helping you find your own way, and your own deeper questions.

Dirk Vis is a Dutch author of poetry, fiction and essays. His Research for People Who (Think They) Would Rather Create has been reprinted and translated around the world.

Edited by curator and researcher Lucia Pietroiusti.

This publication refuses sequence: it circulates, drifts, returns, disappears, and reappears. There is no first page, by design. The moment you decide to step onto the boat in the sky you are part of the crew. What follows is a story about the people who brought it into being. ISSUES is the annual, peer-led publication that serves as the milestone public offering for each School of Commons* (SoC) programmatic cycle. ISSUES 2025 collates and contextualises the processes, practices, and methodologies of each participating project within SoC 2025, who were each invited to contribute in a form and style that was both reflective of, and complementary to, their own ways and workings. With each edition of ISSUES, the SoC Cohort collaboratively develops a collective framing that brings together the thematic threads and working methods they have both individually and collectively explored and developed during their 10-month peer-learning journey. For 2025, SoC presents ISSUES 2025: Exquisite Commons, taking the foundations of the ISSUES publication structure and bringing it into an entirely new process of self-organisation. This evolution of a previously linear practice produces new connective pathways between the collective theme and individual project contributions, as well as for the publication itself, which, for the very first time, lives on in digital, broadcast, and print formats. Traces of the Exquisite Commons approach can be found throughout the publication, most obviously in the replacing of a typical Collective.

The artist Florentina Holzinger is one of the most important voices in contemporary art. On the occasion of her project SEAWORLD VENICE at the Austrian Pavilion at the 61st Intern. Art Exhibition of the Biennale di Venezia, this publication brings together various perspectives on Holzinger’s artistic practice, her visual and choreographic vocabulary, and her themes. It includes texts by Claire Bishop, Caroline Lillian Schopp, Mire Lee, Anna Leon and Nora-Swantje Almes, contributions by Beatrice Cordua, Bettina Kogler, Georg Döcker, Matthias Lilienthal, Sara Ostertag and Felix Ritter, as well as an interview with Florentina Holzinger.

Working across dance, performance, opera and theatre while critically engaging with their histories, Holzinger blends legitimised ‘high’ culture with pop and countercultural currents to unsettle the lines between spectacle and subversion. In collaboration with a team and cast that bring expertise in a broad range of body-based practices and performance genres, her works experiment with body modification – in all its possible forms – as an interplay of transformation and illusion.

An essential collection of essays on language, the imagination, and the art of words by one of the great literary masters of the last century.

Edited by Conner Bouchard-Roberts

This book traces a long sweep (1973-2014) through Ursula K. Le Guin's career; offering both a portrait of the author as a philosopher and a reference text for new generations of writers and bookmakers.

For our Summer 2026 issue, amid the latest revival of SPIRITUALITY in culture, Spike asked: what are people reaching for beyond what can be measured? The answers are eclectic, emphatic, and most of all personal: Johanna Hedva’s essay about the human voice’s part in the divine; portraits of mystic artists Lee “Scratch” Perry, Natasha Tontey, and Santiago Yahuarcani by Isis Semaj-Hall, Riar Rizaldi, and Miguel A. López; Jamieson Webster’s psychoanalytic look at Renaissance painting’s body of Christ; a spiritual history of perfumes by Élisabeth de Feydeau; Patrick McGraw’s soulful reading of America’s (perhaps) greatest living author, Joy Williams; queries of Gen Z’s search for God by Lamorna Ash, the disappearance of atheism by Steven Phillips-Horst, and a new form of contemplation by Aodhan Madden; and LIFEMAXXING recommendations to purge the soul, sometimes devilishly. Plus, some backpage words of wisdom from Tea Hačić-Vlahović: “Devotion and humiliation are holy.”

It took 850 days, 74 tubes of soy ink, 15 colors, 660 masters, 690,000 sheets of paper, 3 fans, 2 riso printers, and 4 people to complete a book – a 360 page book that only talks about 1 thing. The thing that is always the most fascinating is “Process”. The processes and experiences that did not have the chance to appear in the pages of this book can only be quantified, converted, and recorded into words. The process creates micro-imperfections in printing, similar to spontaneity, or even comparable to how improvisation in jazz can lead to an unexpected but pleasant result. The result of two years of research by O.OO, a graphic design studio based in Taipei, the main focus of this publication is colour separation and experimentation with images. The studio does not claim the colour separation methods described here to be absolute or the “right” way, but offer resources in hopes that they can provide helpful advice in practice while on the path to professionalism in this field.
