BaanKerd | City Hub (หาบ)

At WOC Studio, we believe that architecture should do more than shape a space—it should strengthen the connection between people, place, and community.

For BaanKerd, we envisioned a contemporary City Hub that serves as a bridge between local farms and the heart of the city. More than a café or grocery destination, the space was designed as a welcoming rest stop where people can pause, connect, and experience the richness of Thailand’s local culture through food, craftsmanship, and everyday encounters.

The architectural language draws inspiration from traditional Thai agricultural buildings and local vernacular architecture. Elements such as the rhythmic timber feature wall, layered roof forms, and warm natural materials reinterpret familiar rural characteristics into a contemporary setting. The interior extends this narrative by creating flexible gathering spaces that encourage conversation, community interaction, and a sense of belonging.

Every design decision was guided by a simple idea:
bringing local stories closer to urban life.
