World Population Day 🌍
Over the past decade, the world's population has grown by more than 10%, adding approximately 700–800 million people. While some countries continue to experience strong population growth, others are facing the challenges of ageing societies driven by declining birth rates.
Countries such as South Korea, Singapore, China, and Thailand are undergoing rapid demographic shifts, while Monaco, Japan, and Italy have some of the world's oldest populations, with more than a quarter of their residents aged 65 and above.
Whether populations are growing or shrinking, demographic change affects economies, healthcare systems, education, cities, and labour markets.
Maintaining a balance between population and resources has become a global challenge.
Beyond policy and economics, design also plays a crucial role in shaping how we live. Today, QO Design explores global population trends and the interior design strategies that help create better living environments in an increasingly crowded world.
