Gardening requires imagining what's ahead—and now's the time to envision December salad bowls full of sweet, tender cold-hardy greens harvested from your own garden. One easy way to achieve this is with our Winter Greens Mix, a blend of exceptionally cold-hardy leafy greens. Protected by some well-anchored row cover, or even without, many of these greens will give modest but meaningful harvests all winter—apart from the very coldest days of January, when the plants, like us, tend to snooze for a bit.
Mix includes Claytonia, Minutina, Mache, Wild Arugula, and Spinach. Sow now for winter harvest and in late September or early October for harvests from February through April.
