North Georgia humidity is no joke.
We deal with high humidity and moisture throughout this area, and one place homeowners often overlook is right underneath their feet the crawlspace.
Moisture and humid air entering through a vented crawlspace can contribute to mold, mildew, wood deterioration, musty odors and poor conditions underneath the home. The ground can also be an entry point for radon and other soil gases.
A proper encapsulation system creates a sealed barrier between the home and the ground, helping keep ground moisture and humid outside air out. We also install a dehumidifier to continuously pull excess moisture from the air and maintain a controlled humidity level, helping keep the crawlspace clean, dry and protected year-round.
And that exposed strip you see at the top of the foundation wall is left intentionally it provides a clear inspection area so termite and pest-control professionals can spot termite activity or mud tubes instead of having them hidden behind the encapsulation material.
