I’ve always believed the things we love deserve to be enjoyed, not tucked away behind cabinet doors. So this year, I’m dreaming up something a little different for Bleu Bee Designs: a Signature Christmas tree inspired by collected china, vintage treasures, and all the charm you can imagine. This is for the tiny details you love, displayed in a whole new way: The China Cabinet Tree

Think blue and white porcelain, transferware, wedgwood, pretty teacups, generous ribbon, florals and the sort of thoughtful details that make you stop and smile.

Because a Christmas tree can be more than ornaments and lights. It can tell a story, celebrate a collection, and bring the things you love into your home in a whole new way.

Meet our Annandale Cottage, a living, dining and foyer concept I curated for a client who desired their home to feel gathered over generations, with a little whimsy, a few well-loved antiques, and plenty of personality along the way.

A vintage style chest, a traditional rug, blue-and-white accents, botanical prints, and a mix of patterns that somehow feel like they’ve always belonged together. Nothing too precious, nothing too matchy, and certainly nothing that looks like it was ordered straight from a showroom floor.

It’s a chilly, grey day here in Northern Virginia and it feels like autumn, finally! After a whirlwind 5 days entertaining family for Mr Z’s promotion “weekend”, I’m enjoying the rain and slow pace of getting back into client projects.

Enjoy this cozy and colorful library we designed for our sweet clients in Tampa— proof that cozy doesn’t have to be dark and devoid of personality 🩷

Oh goodness, it’s officially the “-ber” months y’all— and I couldn’t be more tickled!

This month we are leaning into the layers of home - from adding character to new builds (or older homes without details) to the thoughtful ways to put antiques to work in your home as functional, livable pieces and whimsical details (see Purveyor Press | Quarterly Vintage + Antique Magazine Autumn online edition).

We are also building out a Subscribers Only page on our website where we’ll offer more designer-led ways to make home truly yours. Stay tuned!

He’s a momma and daddy’s boy - but we’re throwing dad bones like getting to name him after the Ryder Cup USA and his favorite scotch The Macallan & soon he’ll be a golf cart buddy!
