When the wall says “sweat the details,” the architecture had better deliver. Take a look inside Yellowhouse Machinery in Abilene. 👀

At the AQHA Museum, Phase 1 focused on how visitors arrive, browse, and gather. Completed in September 2025, it brought a redesigned gift shop, an upgraded welcome desk, and enhancements to the outdoor arena.

Those updates set the stage for future exhibits and immersive experiences that will share the American Quarter Horse’s story in new ways while honoring its legacy.

What makes you want to stay and explore a museum?

People ask what kind of architecture we do, and the honest answer is: the kind that belongs to everybody.

The city hall where a growing community plans what’s next. The places you turn to for compassion and care. The station that answers the call. The convenience store you stop at every morning. The school where your kid discovers what they’re capable of...

The places where a community becomes itself.

Thanks for trusting Sims+Architects with the spaces that hold us all.

For some, architecture becomes a career.

For Jon, it feels a little more like instinct.

That same curiosity, creativity and desire to make something meaningful still shape the way he approaches his work today.

Leadership is often shaped long before a title is ever earned.

For Sheila, one simple reminder from her dad became a lasting standard for how she approaches her work, her relationships, and the responsibility of leading Sims+Architects.
