Dispose of, or burn, any diseased material that you have cut or that you have gotten off the ground. Never compost diseased plant material. Fertilize perennials with Sunnyside Gardens 8-16-8 fertilizer.

Pumpkins and winter squashes can be harvested when they are fully colored and you can't push your fingernail into the rind. You may also leave winter squash and pumpkins on the vine until the first frost (not hard freeze) has killed the vines. Store pumpkins in a cool, dry location with good air circulation. Set them on top of cardboard or a wood pallet. Be careful not to nick or bruise the fruits or they may rot in storage.
