If you’ve been wondering where we’ve been… this sums up life lately.
Let me explain —
One night I was driving with my cousin, both of us keeping an eye out for deer (if you live in Indiana, you know, tis the season), and a blue heron flew out of nowhere and almost hit the car. I found the original quote on instagram and sent it to my cousin, adding in our modified experience. But that experience basically sums up our life lately — we felt like we were taking care of things and were on the right track with my sister’s cancer diagnosis, when she suddenly passed away — something none of us were prepared for.
Simultaneously, I’ve been in the process of being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. I had my lumbar puncture the same day my sister was moved to hospice care, but we’ve been dealing with the symptoms since January(I have A LOT I could really say about all this, maybe in another post). My family doctor thought my symptoms could be summed up with a vitamin deficiency, but ordered an MRI just in case, and imagine both our surprise when lesions in my brain and spinal cord were present. (Hence, me learning that a group of zebras is called a dazzle.)
This month has, without a doubt, been the worst month of my life. I’m still trying to show up and l i v e . But life just looks & feels different now, so thank you all for sticking with us as we navigate a life without my sister + with MS.
Quarter 4 is typically the busiest season for a small business, and we feel the importance of time with family + physical reminders of our loved ones now more than ever, so we’re still here for you, if you’re looking for something like that, too. 🤎
If you made it this far, thanks. We love ya.
