This is our standard build...not a premium upgrade. Quality shouldn't be treated as an expensive upgrade. Homeowners deserve better...
Photos of finished decks can look great. But remember, we get to pick and choose the angles we show the world.
Beautiful decking can hide poor construction practices that won't reveal themselves until years down the road, long after your contractor is gone.
Don't just look at the finished product. Pay attention to what's underneath it.
Here's what you're looking at in our framing:
-Poured concrete piers
-Standoff post bases to keep wood elevated off concrete and out of the dirt.
-Notched 6x6 posts supporting double 2x10 beams with thru-loks and structural fasteners.
-2x8 joists spanning no more than 8 feet secured to the beams with hurricane ties
-Joist and beam tape protecting the framing and flat blocking
We believe a high-quality deck starts with what's underneath it, not just what you see on top. And every year we strive to build better and offer a higher standard than the last.
(Not every project allows us to frame exactly this way. I'll be sharing some of our ground-level deck framing soon, too.)
