Lewis's Mock Orange, Philadelphus lewisii, is Idaho's state flower and one of many spring blooming shrubs. This species blooms in June, often later in June our area. Lewis's mock orange is one of our most fragrant shrubs and is quite tidy in the garden, it doesn't sucker or spread. Mature plants may grow to 10 feet in height. We have quite a number of these in quart pots. They grow relatively quickly so don't worry about purchasing a plant in a smaller pot size.

Redstem Dogwood or Red-osier Dogwood is a common native shrub in our area most often seen next to streams, ponds or lakes. This shrub grows 5 to 10 feet tall with equal spread. It is attractive throughout the year featuring white clusters of blooms in spring followed by white berries and red foliage in fall and finally the red stems over the winter. While found in wetlands it is adaptable to most garden settings where it will benefit from some supplemental water through the dry summer months. We still have quite a few of these beauties available in a variety of pot sizes.

We still have these two lovely vines in stock! The blue flower is Clematis occidentalis, a native Clematis species which is very common in our area. It has several common names Western Blue Virgin's Bower, Purple Clematis, Blue Virgin's Bower. This species will do best in part shade and like other Clematis species prefers its roots to be shaded, mulch can also provide protection. This species is very cold hardy, to zone 3! The orange flowers are Orange Honeysuckle, Lonicera ciliosa. While the Clematis blooms relatively early, Orange honeysuckle blooms in mid summer. The tubular orange flowers attract hummingbirds, bees and butterflies. Both species may be trained to grow on trellises, arbors or fences.
