We are well into the Fall season….but some places still feel like Summer!

So excited to share our project that just wrapped up construction in Kiawah Island, South Carolina. The views from the back are unbelievable and you can see over the marshes, the golf course all the way to the Atlantic! Evening is the time to kick back and enjoy the view.

Togetherness……..what happens when you mix challenging terrain, inventive landscape design and some Italian architecture!

What makes a trip to Lake Como so exciting but at the same time so calming is the effortless look of the built environment. The hillsides plummet straight down to the lakeshore but the landscape architecture and the buildings respond perfectly. Buildings perch on terraced land while the plantings look like they are holding them firmly in place.

How much is that doggy in the window? The store windows in Milan during Fashion Week were truly one of my favorite sigh...

How much is that doggy in the window?

The store windows in Milan during Fashion Week were truly one of my favorite sightseeing moments. This display featured at The House of Dior located on the iconic Via Monte Napoleone featured man’s (and women’s too) best friend constructed out of zippers, dress trimmings, buttons and whatever else was in the dressmaker’s studio. Fanciful other creatures filled out the setting and it took more than a few minutes to look at this and marvel at the intricacies of the construction. Not sure how much the little doggy would cost, but the glitter tank top was listed at €12,000 Euros!

Carpe Diem, Y’all! Or should I say CAR-pe diem?

Sometimes you have to put down the flair pens, the scales and tracing paper and hit the road. And if you are hitting the road what better place than Lake Como in customized vintage Fiat Cinquecentos. These little cars were made to traverse the tiny streets and alleyways of Italy and get you to where you wanted to go…….and we definitely wanted to go! We were driven to all sorts of get away places along the western shore of Lake Como off the main road to experience the places only the locals know. Thank you to La Dolce Guida for a fabulous tour and lunch. We would not have ever been able to discover all of the charming places without you both—-Bravo to Federico and Stefano!

Oh what a beautiful morning!

School might be back in session but you can still be outside living your best life. Outdoor spaces are some of the parts of the house we love to focus on and knowing how our clients intend to use the outside space around their home matters! Do you cook out there? Do you play with the kids and/or the dog? Do you actually swim in that pool? Do you need to throw a baseball back there or shoot hoops? It all contributes to how we plan the areas that are outside the house. homes
