Trees Worth Seeing #4 🐉

The dragon’s blood tree grows on the island of Socotra in a dry, rocky landscape.

Its dense umbrella-shaped crown looks like it belongs on another planet, and its name comes from the bright red resin produced by the tree.

Coolest one yet—or is the rainbow eucalyptus still winning?

Quick CSRA homeowner poll:

Which one makes you look twice during a windy night?

A) A tall pine near the roof
B) A heavy oak limb over the driveway
C) A dead tree leaning toward a fence
D) Something else

Drop your answer below. I’ll make next week’s tree-safety post around the most common choice.

Trees Worth Seeing #3 🌲

Meet General Sherman—a giant sequoia in California’s Sequoia National Park and the largest known living tree in the world by volume.

It contains approximately 52,508 cubic feet of trunk.

Not the tallest. Not the widest. Just the most tree. 😂

What’s the biggest tree you’ve ever seen in person?

Trees Worth Seeing #2 🌈

No paint. No filter.

The rainbow eucalyptus sheds strips of bark, revealing green underneath. As the exposed bark ages, it develops streaks of orange, red, gray and purple-brown.

Nature was clearly showing off with this one.

Would you plant one if Augusta’s winters allowed it?

Same word: oak. Very different tree.

Water oaks grow quickly, but their wood is weaker than most oaks and damaged areas do not resist decay well.

Live oaks develop massive spreading limbs and can live for generations when they have enough room and the right growing conditions.

Species, structure, age and location all matter when deciding whether a tree should be pruned, monitored or removed.

Which one do you see more around your neighborhood?

Trees Worth Seeing #1 🌳

This is Angel Oak on Johns Island, South Carolina—a Southern live oak estimated to be roughly 400–500 years old.

It looks less like one tree and more like an entire forest decided to grow from one trunk.

Would you make the drive to see it in person?

Follow Tree Masters CSRA for two incredible trees every week, along with useful tree knowledge from around the CSRA.

🌳🌲 ONE YARD. SEVERAL TREE CONCERNS. WHERE DO YOU START?

You don’t necessarily have to handle everything at once.

We can help separate the property into:

🔴 NOW — the most immediate concern
🟡 NEXT — recommended work that can be planned
🟢 MONITOR — trees that simply need to be watched

That means handling the biggest risk first without selling you work that doesn’t need to happen today.

Have several trees you’re worried about? Send photos of each one and tell us which concerns you most.
