That stripe was not an accident.

Fawn antelope. One fearless line of espresso straight down the middle. Brass on the rail, stone on the wall. This staircase did not come to blend in, and neither did the house around it.

Your stairs called. They want the same treatment.

Pull the sample at the showroom and take it home tonight. From first pull to final delivery, we handle the rest.

Know Your Villain, No. 1: The Dogs.

Meet Coco and Lily, our Giant Schnauzers. Muddy paws. Nail clicks across the hardwood. Zoomies at full speed through the living room, and a water bowl that somehow floods every single day.

We love them. They are still the villains.

The good news: the right floor beats them. A dense, low pile rug takes the zoomies and cleans up after the mud. A stair runner gives those paws grip instead of a slide. And the right rug pad underneath keeps the whole operation from traveling across the room.

Bring us your villain. We have been matching floors to dogs since 1970, and we will help you pick the one that survives yours, from first pull to final delivery.

Follow us for the next villain in the series, and save this one if a dog runs your house.

Consider this your official invitation to come play in the samples.

Bring the paint chips, the fabric swatches, the coffee, and that one photo you keep coming back to. We will pull, stack, compare, narrow it down, and find the floor that makes the whole room click.

Carpet, custom rugs, stair runners, hardwood, luxury vinyl, cork, and turf. We help you choose it, order it, check it in, and stay on it from first pull to final delivery.

No pressure, no guesswork, just good people, great floors, and a showroom full of possibilities. Come see us in downtown Austin, weekdays 9:30 to 4.

October is Wool Month. Wool is a classic choice for custom rugs and broadloom carpet. We always tell you guys it is one of the smartest investments for a busy home. The fibers have a natural protective layer that resists stains and dirt. Wool is also highly durable and bounces back well under heavy foot traffic.

Basic care is simple. Vacuum regularly without a be**er bar to keep the fibers looking new. If a spill happens, blot it right away with a clean cloth and water.

Come by our downtown Austin showroom to feel our wool samples in person. We can help find the right fit for your next project.

Follow us for more straight talk on floors, and save this one for your next project.

Some staircases ask for color.

This one got it. A Missoni Saverio runner in Confetti, a tailored Wilton woven from 100 percent wool, fine stripes in rust, sage, and cream running tread over tread and turning the landing without missing a beat. Jim Lusk installed it, and Jim's work is why we send our clients' staircases to him.

Saverio is from the Missoni Home collection at , available through the showroom in custom sizes and wall to wall.

Thinking about your stairs? Come talk runners with us, Monday through Friday, 9:30 to 4.

New from , just landed at the showroom.

Meeka takes an ombre antelope hide and turns it into a soft cut pile, white flecks drifting across a graduated field of color. All the drama of animal print, none of the precious upkeep. In Fawn, Ink, and Porcelain.

Verrin goes the other way: a fine diamond trellis over a pebbly wool loop pile, slender lines bringing tailored order to an earthy, heathered ground. Quiet, refined texture for a study, bedroom, or living room. In Brownstone, Charcoal, Pecan, and Sandstone.

Both are available in custom sizes. Come run your hand across the samples, Monday through Friday, 9:30 to 4.
