Turn an Ordinary Pumpkin Into the Cutest Fluffy Highland Cow! 🐮🎃
What You Need
One medium or large orange pumpkin, thick yarn in caramel brown, beige, tan, and cream, brown and beige felt fabric, two small pieces of flexible craft wire for the horns, artificial autumn flowers, a few small green leaves, scissors, craft glue or a low temperature hot glue gun, and a woven placemat for displaying the finished decoration.
How to Make It
🎃 1. Prepare your pumpkin. Choose a round orange pumpkin with a sturdy stem. Clean and dry its surface. There is no need to carve or hollow it out.
🧶 2. Create the fluffy hair. Cut thick yarn into long strands and gather them into small bundles. Attach the bundles around the upper part of the pumpkin, allowing them to hang down across the front and sides. Mix different shades of brown, tan, and cream to create the shaggy Highland cow look.
🐮 3. Make the horns and ears. Shape two pieces of flexible craft wire into curved horns and wrap them tightly with cream yarn. Secure them near the pumpkin stem. Cut two large ears from brown felt, add smaller inner ear pieces, and attach them just below the horns.
🤎 4. Add the cute muzzle. Cut a large horizontal oval from beige felt and attach two small dark brown circles as nostrils. Glue the muzzle onto the lower front of the pumpkin, just beneath the hanging yarn bangs.
🌼 5. Make the autumn flower crown. Arrange a few cream daisies, orange chrysanthemums, and small filler flowers between the horns. Secure them around the upper section of the pumpkin, leaving the shaggy hairstyle visible.
🍂 6. Display your Highland cow. Gently adjust the yarn strands to create a naturally messy, fluffy appearance. Place the finished pumpkin on a wooden table, porch, or covered entryway for an adorable farmhouse fall decoration.
This no carve pumpkin craft is a fun way to create a cozy autumn decoration using simple materials. Keep it in a dry, sheltered location to help protect the yarn and felt from moisture.
