Designer Tip💡

When furniture floats within a room, the back matters too. 👀

In open layouts especially, a sofa or chair can help define different areas, create natural transitions, and influence how you move through the space. Sometimes a console table is the perfect finishing touch, while other layouts benefit from keeping that space completely open.

Considering furniture from every angle is one of the little details that can make a layout feel intentional from anywhere in the room.

Wow! What a transformation ✨ What used to be just a window is now a stunning new family entrance! Custom built-ins with cabinets full of smart storage solutions, and a beautiful new door, all drenched in Slate Tile by SW, makes this space feel like it was always meant to be - and adds so much more functionality for our clients’ busy family. The new exterior staircase and dark wood-stained door blend perfectly with the existing landscaping and walkways. We are loving the finished result!

Today’s tool: Mixed Metals ✨

Your metal finishes don’t have to match. In fact, mixing them thoughtfully can make a room feel more layered and collected.

✨ Finish & Balance: Combining finishes like brass, black, chrome, nickel, or bronze creates contrast and keeps a space from feeling too uniform.

🏡 Where to use it: Kitchens, bathrooms, lighting, hardware, furniture, and decor. Try repeating each finish in more than one place so the mix feels intentional rather than random.

💡 Why we love it: Mixed metals give you more freedom to choose pieces you love without being tied to a single finish. When balanced throughout the room, they add depth and interest while still creating a cohesive look.

Designer Tip 💡

Symmetry can bring a sense of structure and calm to a space, but that doesn’t mean everything has to come in matching pairs.

We often use symmetry to establish a strong foundation around features like beds, fireplaces, vanities, or dining tables, then introduce variation through artwork, textiles, furnishings, and accessories. It’s all about knowing where a little order can help the rest of the design shine.
