Happy National Color Day. If you love bold color but it scares you a little, start with fabric instead of paint.
A pair of pillows, a chair seat or one set of drapery panels will tell you more about a color than a paint chip ever will. If you change your mind, you haven't repainted anything. Once you know you love it, carry it onto the walls.

Is leopard a neutral? We gave it an honest look on the blog this month.
Short answer: sometimes. A tan cheetah on a cream ground behaves like a textured solid. A hot pink leopard on black does not, and it would be the first to tell you so.
The trick is quantity. One piece looks confident. Three looks like a theme. Five looks like a gift shop.

Here's why the width matters. Empire is non-directional, so it can be railroaded. The fabric runs sideways, and the width becomes your curtain length. That's one seamless panel across a whole wall of windows, with no seams showing every time the sun comes through.
