It has come to my attention that the cookies here at Treats by Tess have developed some SERIOUS attitude problems! 🤣

They’ve gotten a little sassy, a little naughty, and quite frankly, I’m not sure I can control them anymore! 😂

One of my customers recently informed me that my cookies have officially become her CAR COOKIES!

A car cookie for breakfast on the way to work. Another at lunch while running errands. And naturally, one for the ride home! 😂

At this point, I’m beginning to think cookies should be listed as standard vehicle equipment, right alongside the spare tire and emergency kit! 🤣

Grandma always said to behave yourself, but clearly nobody passed that message along to my cookies!

⚠️ FAIR WARNING: These troublemakers have been known to cause uncontrollable cravings, disappearing cookie stashes, and sudden cases of “I was only going to eat ONE!”

Now I need to know…

Well, good morning, you nosy little rascals! 😂☕ I've got a feeling today's post is going to expose a few of you!

⭐️ LITTLE EXPERIMENT HERE, FOLKS! ⭐️

I’m curious how many of you actually READ my ramblings and how many just toss me a like and keep scrolling! Let’s see who’s really paying attention! 👀🤣

☎️😂 WHO REMEMBERS THE GREAT TELEPHONE ESCAPE?

Back when the telephone was attached to the kitchen wall, having a private conversation required determination, creativity, and a phone cord longer than your mother’s patience! 😬

You’d wait ALL afternoon for that special someone to call.

And the second that phone rang?

Suddenly, EVERYBODY in the house needed something from the kitchen!

Mom was cooking, Dad was looking for something, and your siblings were hovering like little unpaid private investigators.

Meanwhile, you were stretching that curly telephone cord around the corner, down the hallway, and practically into the next ZIP code just to have a conversation! 😂

Some of those cords were stretched so far they never curled back up properly. They just hung there looking like a Slinky that had given up on life!

And heaven forbid someone picked up the other extension.

You’d hear that little CLICK.

“GET OFF THE PHONE! I’M TALKING!” 🤣

Of course, there was always that one family member who insisted they weren’t listening. 🙉

Meanwhile, you could hear them BREATHING! 😂

And remember when we actually MEMORIZED phone numbers? 867-5309 🎤🎶 You sang that, we all know it! 😂

Our friends, grandparents, boyfriends, girlfriends, and probably half the neighborhood.

Nowadays, I can barely remember why I walked into the pantry! 🤣

But here’s what really gets me.

We survived without cell phones, texting, caller ID, or being available every waking minute.

If somebody called and you weren’t home?

THEY CALLED BACK!

And if you were already on the phone, they got a busy signal. No texting you to hurry up, no call waiting, just good old fashioned patience!

Unless, of course, your mother needed to use the phone.

Then your conversation was OVER, whether you were finished or not! 😂

NOW TELL ME…

How far did YOUR kitchen telephone cord stretch?

And more importantly, were YOU the one sneaking around the corner for privacy, or the little troublemaker picking up the other extension to listen? 👀😂

🍪😂 THE BIGGEST COOKIE BETRAYAL OF OUR CHILDHOOD!

WHO REMEMBERS THIS LITTLE DISAPPOINTMENT? 🤣

There were two kinds of grandmothers back in the day. The ones who kept cookies in their cookie tins… And the ones who were running an entire sewing department out of theirs! 😂

You’d spot that beautiful cookie tin sitting there, and your little heart would skip a beat.

COOKIES!

You’d carefully lift that lid, already imagining those buttery little treats melting in your mouth. And what did you find?

BUTTONS. THREAD. NEEDLES. A THIMBLE.

And enough random sewing supplies to outfit half the neighborhood! 🤣

The disappointment was REAL!

And heaven forbid you actually needed a button. Grandma could dig through that tin for thirty seconds and somehow find the EXACT one that matched your shirt.

Meanwhile, you were still standing there wondering where the cookies went! 😂

But you have to admit, those women were resourceful. ❤️

They could sew a button back on your shirt, patch the knees of your jeans, hem a pair of pants, and still have supper on the stove before anyone thought to complain they were hungry.

And they didn’t need a fancy organizer from Amazon to do it!

Just an old cookie tin, a handful of mismatched buttons, and the ability to find absolutely ANYTHING except the cookies you were looking for! 🤣

I swear, Grandma could make a dollar stretch farther than a pair of pantyhose with a run in them!

And somehow, everything had a second purpose.

Except us kids when we were caught snooping around looking for something sweet. Then our second purpose was usually washing dishes! 😂

And here’s the funny part…

I STILL HAVE TWO OF MY GRANDMOTHER-IN-LAW’S OLD COOKIE TINS! ❤️

And wouldn’t you know it, they’re STILL full of cookies!

BAHAHAHAHA! JUST KIDDING! 🤣🤣

One is full of sewing supplies, and the other is full of BUTTONS!

Apparently, the tradition of disappointing unsuspecting cookie lovers is alive and well in this family! 😂

Now, here at Treats by Tess, I promise that when you open a container expecting cookies, you’re actually getting cookies.

Unless one of us gets to them first! 🤣❤️

🤣🍪 WE MAY HAVE A COOKIE PROBLEM!

First, the cookies are being eaten on the drive home. Next thing I know, she’s having car cookies for breakfast, lunch AND the ride home from work! 😂

Now she’s considering dressing as the Cookie Monster for Halloween, and obviously I’d have to go as the cookie jar! 🤣

Meanwhile, Alex set aside half a dozen cookies right here in our own house! Apparently, the cookie obsession is contagious! 🫣😂

But here’s the sweetest part. ❤️ What started as a customer relationship has blossomed into a wonderful friendship, and she’s still an amazing customer! It’s little things like this that make what I do so special. 🥰

Of course, in this particular friendship, neither one of us can be trusted around cookies! 🤣🍪

Now, who’s willing to admit they have a secret cookie stash? 👀😂 GUILTY 🙋🏻‍♀️

Can I ask y’all a little favor? And no, it doesn’t involve washing my dishes, cleaning my kitchen, or helping me figure out where all my counter space disappeared to! 🤣😂

When you’re running a small business, especially one built from scratch with your own two hands, every little bit of support matters more than you might realize.
