Most importantly, everyone is OK. 🙏

When a vehicle left the road and crashed through this customer’s fence, it damaged the fence and an H-brace our Butler Contracting crew welded and installed a couple of years ago.

The steel bent, but our welds held—and the post stayed in the ground. Seeing that workmanship hold together under those circumstances says a lot about the care our team puts into each installation.

Just as meaningful is the trust our customers place in us. Mike has chosen Butler Contracting for three gate installations, including replacing one damaged in the accident. Here’s part of his five-star Google review:

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
“Their crews are always knowledgeable, friendly and hard working. They communicate very well and quickly address any changes or questions. I'll use them again!”
— Mike Mathews

Thank you, Mike, for your continued trust and for recognizing our crew!

From farm and ranch fencing to custom gates, automatic gate systems, and repairs, our local, family-owned team is proud to serve Fayette County and surrounding Central Texas communities.

THE WORST FENCE WE HAVE SEEN!

Why can one fence or gate estimate cost more than another? The difference often comes down to details that aren’t obvious when you compare prices.

At Butler Contracting, we regularly encounter problems in the field that show why materials, installation methods, and attention to detail matter. This video highlights the kinds of issues we see—and why we encourage homeowners to look closely at what their contractor’s proposal includes.

A lower upfront price can become more expensive when repairs, adjustments, or early replacement are needed.

Our proposals reflect the materials, planning, and workmanship required for the scope we recommend. We take time to explain those choices so you understand what you’re investing in and why.

Before choosing a fence or gate contractor, ask:
• What materials and installation methods are included?
• How will the design account for my property and intended use?
• What warranty and service support are provided?
• Are the proposals actually covering the same scope?

Butler Contracting specializes in fences, automatic gates, and outdoor living spaces throughout Bastrop and the surrounding Central Texas communities.

Have another proposal you’re comparing? Ask us to walk you through ours and explain the details that affect price and long-term value.

🌬️🏡 STORM DAMAGE: WILL YOUR HOMEOWNERS INSURANCE PAY FOR A NEW FENCE?

When strong winds roll through Central Texas, fences are often among the first things to take a hit. But if your fence blows over, who pays to fix it — you or your insurance company?

Here's something many homeowners don't realize: Your homeowners insurance may cover storm damage to your fence!

However, there are a few things you should know before filing a claim:

✅ Wind damage may be covered under your homeowners insurance policy.

✅ Your insurance may only pay for damaged sections, not your entire fence.

✅ Age and depreciation matter! Just because your fence costs $8,000 to replace doesn't mean insurance will pay $8,000.

✅ Your deductible matters. Sometimes filing a claim may not be your best financial option.

❌ Poor maintenance and deterioration generally aren't covered. Insurance isn't designed to replace a fence simply because it's old.

At Butler Contracting, we've been helping Central Texas homeowners with professional fence installation and repairs since 2015.

We believe an informed homeowner makes better decisions. That's why we wrote this article explaining how fence insurance claims work, what to expect, and what questions you should ask before filing.

🏁 EVERY UNDERDOG HAS A STORY. WE KNOW, BECAUSE WE'VE BEEN THERE! 🏁

When Butler Contracting started over a decade ago, we were the underdogs ourselves. We weren't the biggest name around, and the road certainly hasn't always been smooth.

We've had our share of setbacks, mistakes, and tough seasons. But we never quit. We kept showing up, learning from our mistakes, improving our craft, and growing stronger because of those challenges.

And that's the thing about underdogs. Sometimes the greatest victories come from the lessons learned along the way. 💪

Today, we're fortunate enough to be in a position to give back and support other underdogs right here in our community.

🏎️ To Southerland Racing and the entire #83 team: WE ARE PROUD OF YOU!

This racing season may not have gone the way you hoped, but one tough season doesn't define a team. It's the determination to keep pushing, keep learning, and come back stronger that matters.

Butler Contracting is proud to stand behind you, and we'll be right here supporting you next season! 🏁

🎥 NOW CHECK THIS OUT!

Take a ride inside the #83 race car with this awesome in-car camera footage!

We're proud to sponsor local racing, support local families chasing their dreams, and be part of THE GREATEST SHOW ON DIRT right here in our community!

Because at Butler Contracting, we believe building a stronger community means doing more than just building fences. It means standing behind the people who make our community great.

🐶 Is Your Ornamental Iron Fence Really Dog-Friendly? Whether you call it a wrought iron fence, ornamental iron fence, aluminum fence, or decorative metal fence, there's one important detail many homeowners overlook.

👉 The space between the bars!

Most ornamental metal fences have openings of approximately 4 inches or less between the vertical pickets. That's typically fine for medium and large dogs.

But what about your little Chihuahua, Yorkie, or puppy? 🐕

Those little escape artists may be able to squeeze right through!

🔧 That's where Butler Contracting's Puppy Panels come in!

Our puppy panel solutions can reduce those openings to approximately 2 inches or less, helping keep smaller pets safely contained without sacrificing the beautiful appearance of your ornamental fence.

✅ Beautiful decorative fencing

✅ Solutions for small and large dogs

✅ Puppy panels for compatible new or existing fences

✅ Professionally designed and installed

At Butler Contracting, we believe a great fence should look good AND do the job it's supposed to do!

📍 Proudly serving Bastrop, Fayette, Lee, and Caldwell Counties, Texas.

🐾 Because your fence shouldn't be easier to escape than your backyard!

“How much do you charge per foot?”

It’s one of the most common questions we get—and it sounds like it should have a simple answer.

But a fence professional needs to know a lot more than the total number of feet before giving you an accurate price.

Two fences can both be 400 feet long and have completely different costs.

Why?

🏡 Property layout and number of fence runs
⛰️ Slopes, terrain and elevation changes
🚪 Number, size and type of gates
🪨 Soil and digging conditions
🌳 Trees, vegetation and obstacles
📐 Corners and changes in direction
🪵 Fence style, height and materials
🔨 Removal of an existing fence
🚚 Access to the work area
⚡ Utilities, easements and other site conditions

Even the way the footage is divided around the property changes how many posts and fence sections have to be built.

That’s why Butler Contracting doesn’t want to throw out a “price per foot” that sounds good today and becomes a completely different number once someone actually looks at your project.

A real fence professional asks questions first.

Our goal is to help you understand what your project actually requires, provide accurate pricing, and avoid expensive surprises after construction begins.
